  • The award winning photos from the ASCCA 2005 Digital Photography Competition were displayed.
  • The results of members' voting on HSCC entries in the 2005 ASCCA Digital Photography Competition were presented. See the results here.
  • Members showed some photos from Sculpture by the Sea 2005.
Presentation :
  • Joyce Pickup demonstrated the use of the Clone tool in Paint Shop Pro.

  • Points of View, an exhibition of Australian photography from 1985 to 1995, is on view at the Art Gallery of NSW from 19 November 2005 to 29 January 2006.
Activities :
  • Sculpture by the Sea is on from 3-20 November 2005, along the coastal walk between Tamarama and Bondi beaches and will be the subject for members' photography during November.
Presentations :
  • Ian Robinson gave a presentation on "Night Photography".
  • Geoff Turton gave a short presentation on resizing digital images using Irfanview and Paint Shop Pro.

  • 27 HSCC members entered a total of 132 photos in the 2005 ASCCA Digital Photography Competition.
Activities :
  • Members completed a survey to review which aspects of digital photography they wanted to know more about.

Presentation :
  • Geoff Turton gave a presentation on "Optical and Digital Zoom".

  • Further discussion on conditions of entry for the ASCCA 2005 Digital Photography Competition.
  • A couple of entry conditions to particularly note:
    • All photographs submitted must be taken on a digital camera since 15 September 2004 by the entrant.
    • For this competition, Enhanced means any alteration at all, including cropping and rotation.
    • Each photograph must be given a title.
    • Photographs must be submitted in jpeg format.

  • Completed entry forms and digital images for the 2005 ASCCA Digital Photography Competition must be given to Ian Chesterfield by the September group meeting on Tuesday 6 September 2005.
  • Submit images on either a floppy disc or CD and include each image in a separate folder marked with the appropriate category name:
    • 1a - Landscape_Enhanced
    • 1b - People_Enhanced
    • 1c - General_Enhanced
    • 2a - Landscape_Not Enhanced
    • 2b - People_Not Enhanced
    • 2c - General_Not Enhanced
Members' Photos :
  • Ian Chesterfield showed photos from Canada and Alaska.
  • Members showed a variety of photos from Carss Park.

Discussion :
  • Joyce Pickup will compile an e-mail address list for contacting group members.
Activities :
  • Carss Park was selected for a group outing at 10:00am on Tuesday 21 June 2005.
Members' Photos :
  • More Miles Franklin sculpture photos were presented.

  • The ASCCA 2005 Digital Photography Competition was launched on 9 March 2005.
Members' Photos :
  • A selection of members' photos of the Miles Franklin sculpture (corner McMahon and Dora Streets, Hurstville) were displayed.
  • Mavis Fitzgibbon showed some of her photos from Antarctica.
Presentation :
  • Geoff Turton presented a definition and model for exploring photography.
