 Genealogical Interest Group Updates 4/2004
The following information comes courtesy of LDS Family History Centre, Mortdale, NSW and is contained in Hugh Wallis's Web Sites at:
freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis

IGI Batch Numbers - British Isles and North America
Lists of parishes that have been extracted and indexed by county are given with their IGI batch number. Selection is by country then county then parish. Batch numbers for the parish are given by dates, christenings and marriages.
Click on a bacth number and choose either the whole batch or persons of a certain name. The program will then direct you to the IGI listing within that parish and all the names in alphabetical order.

IGI Middle Name Index
This web site also gives information on searching IGI English and Scottish Middle Names which is excellent for finding ancestors who have a common surname like Smith or Brown but have an unusual middle name as the IGI does not search middle names. Selection is by county and middle initial. All middle names with the initial entered will appear.
Click on the one required and a list will be given from which to choose.
Click on the chosen person and the program takes you to the IGI entry.
